Wilkinson Elementary Water Garden
Friday was the last day of school in Sarasota County, and we are thrilled to have once again partnered with a local elementary school to teach their students about our profession and some of its fun and functional applications. Through a grant secured by Wilkinson Elementary School 3rd grade teacher Cari Dye, her wonderful class had the opportunity to participate in the design, material selection, and installation process for a water garden just outside their classroom.
Ms. Dye challenged her students to interview the school principal about what the space needed to achieve. They also generated their own list of program elements they’d like to incorporate. We created base plans for the class and explained how we work within varying scales and media to convey our vision to our clients, both two-dimensionally and three-dimensionally.
We finished the installation this week, and the students (and teacher) could not be more pleased with the space!
