Symetry and Synergy in Waterfront Living
The concept for this thoughtful new build was to use the elevation change as an opportunity rather than a constraint, giving scale to the home while offering a terraced sequence of stunning views.

This traditional coastal architecture afforded us the opportunity to play with big symmetry, while framing some of the best views in our community. We enjoyed sculpting and terracing the rear outdoor living spaces to give these wonderful clients multiple spots for gathering, with palms added to provide shade in the afternoons from western exposure. The challenge of this project was the expanse of the house on its moderate lot; we provided not just privacy but scale to the home, while remaining congruent with the context of the neighborhood. When designing to new flood elevations, we avoided a disconnect between home and landscape by using terraces and plantings to help strengthen this relationship. The result is an outdoor-indoor experience that encourages the clients to enjoy Suncoast living at its finest.
